FAQs - Logosol Smart Holder

What diameter logs can it hold?
From 25mm to 230mm (1 to 9 inches).
What length log it can hold?
Manufacturer specs say no limit but realistically it can support a log heavier than the average person can lift. Raise one end into the jaws then lift the other end to working height. The weight of the log will lock it into position in the jaws.
Can it hold several small logs at the same time?
Yes, but we advise against it. Small diameter logs, especially long, small diameter logs, tend to spring and bounce, increasing the risk of your chainsaw catching and kicking.
How much does it weigh?
12kg.
How long does it take to fold out and set up?
10 seconds.
How long does it to change the jaw position for different sized logs?
3 – 4 seconds.
Does the log get stuck in the spiked jaws?
Occasionally, but just a tap is enough to drop the last length of wood from the jaws.
How stable is it?
It works best set up on reasonably flat ground. Position up or down on sloping ground, not across the slope.
Is the Logosol Smart Holder any better than a regular firewood sawhorse?
Yes, way better – you can read for yourself what our customers have said about it.
The Logosol Smart Holder is lighter than a regular firewood sawhorse; it folds up; it’s easier to carry to the job; you have unobstructed access to the log; and the spiked jaws lock the log firmly in position so it doesn’t roll when the chainsaw bites into it. This makes cutting firewood a safer, a one-person job.
What gauge steel is it made from?
14 gauge.
Does it come with a warranty?
Yes, it has a full 2-year warranty.

FAQs - Logosol Smart Splitter

Will the Logosol Smart Splitter split gum?
This is by far the most common question on the Smart Splitter. It will split straight, dry gum but if you’re looking to split knotty gum logs that are too difficult to split with an axe or axe-style splitter, the Smart Splitter is not the answer. The Logosol Smart Splitter is a manually-operated splitter designed as a safer, easier-to-use alternative to an axe or axe-style splitter. It’s not designed as commercial, high-volume splitter, or as an alternative to a heavy-duty hydraulic splitter.
Will it split manuka?
Yes, it splits manuka no problem, but, like gum, if you have knotty logs that are too difficult to split with an axe, the Smart Splitter will also struggle.
What is the biggest diameter log it will split?
We’ve split 900mm diameter poplar rings with the Smart Splitter but it’s impractical. Anything too big to fit on the chopping block or too heavy to lift is too big.
How safe is it?
The Logosol Smart Splitter is much safer than an axe. The sharp splitting wedge is always locked in position exactly where you want it on the log. We recommend earmuffs and gloves when using the Smart Splitter.
How heavy is the Smart Splitter?
9.5 kg.
Does it come with a warranty?
Yes, it has a full 2-year warranty.

FAQs - Logosol Timberjig

What size chainsaw do I need to operate the Logosol Timberjig?
The recommended minimum chainsaw size is 70cc.
How long a bar can I run on my saw with the Timberjig?
Recommended bar size is 400mm (16 inch) to 600mm (24 inch).
Do I run a different chain on my saw when using the Timberjig?
Yes, a standard chainsaw chain is not designed to cut efficiently when milling/cutting with the grain.
Will the Timberjig fit any chainsaw?
Not quite. It will fit almost all 2 bar bolt chainsaws (most chainsaws are 2 bolt).
How much does the Timberjig weigh?
4.6kg.
How does the Timberjig compare with traditional chainsaw mills?
Logosol also sells bigger chainsaw mills for larger scale operators. The Timberjig is popular because it’s simple, convenient, easy to use, and does a great job.
